Training…
November 7th, 2007 Posted in poodles, training, trialsWe have an agility trial on Saturday and Sunday (at Argus Ranch). Dancer is entered in Novice Jumpers and FAST; Elly is entered in Standard, Jumpers, and FAST. I worked with both dogs today until I was once again dripping with sweat. (I hear my father’s voice: “horses sweat, men perspire, women glow.” Sorry, Dad, but that glow was dripping off the ends of my hair.) The DOGS were tired. I swear Elly trotted over to the crate and begged me to let her in so she could rest. But their weaves were flawless (as long as I didn’t push Dancer too hard on the entry) and they were both really responsive, really thinking and looking ahead. There was a long NADAC-type distance curve that both dogs had fun with and did beautifully, and the serpentine training has really tightened up both dogs’ serpentines. I’m looking forward to testing all the training we’ve been doing. I’m afraid to admit it… I think we might be able to Q.
