Dumbest Dog Move Ever
November 11th, 2007 Posted in poodlesOkay, so maybe Elly isn’t that bright.
But this is really stupid.
Look at this picture:

What you see there is a poodle that has gotten her head wedged between a stone wall and the edge of the deck. That’s my husband, trying to figure out how he’s going to get her out.
How did she get wedged there? Chasing a bunny out of the yard. Now we know how they’re getting in and out…
I have to give Elly credit. Once she realized she was wedged, she didn’t cry, struggle further, or do anything to make the situation worse. She trusted us to get her out of this mess. Which we did.

Jay pried a stone loose, then crawled under the deck and pushed her gently forward until her neck came loose. I kept her calm, pushed her head down and backwards, and she was released.
So what was the first thing she did? Backtracked the bunny.
I told you: she’s not that smart.
(Are you wondering what Dancer did during all this fuss? She waited calmly at the gate.)
