My skinny naked dogs
February 9th, 2008 Posted in Photos, poodlesI took the dogs to the groomer yesterday. I should have taken a “before” picture, because I think Katrina worked a miracle. I gave her two dreadlocked darlings (they could have been badly clipped doodles) with mats in their topknots and got back impeccably groomed–albeit naked–poodles. Poor girls, it was raining when we got back and they did not appreciate feeling cold rain on their skin. I had to put their sweaters on.
Why so short? Well, with Elly’s digging habit, it’s a lot easier to maintain a short clip.

My Winnie has ended up with a shockingly short “do” on more than one occasion. I’m more used to it now, but there were times that I thought of asking why they gave me someone else’s dog or other times when I know I had such a shocked looked on my face that I felt badly for the groomer later on. I’m better at hiding that now. When one is new to the world of standard poodles, those first haircuts can be harder on the owner than the wearer!
