which is all about a woman who dyes her miniature poodle pink, using “vegan dyes” also known as the commercial product Manic Panic, which is one of the many dyes my daughter uses to make her own hair pink. (That’s Dancer when she was only four months old.)

Frankly, I think it’s a huge waste of time to prosecute someone for dying their poodle any color. I dyed Elly once, for Halloween–with some of my daughter’s vegetable dye–and she loved the attention. She thought she was the coolest dog on the planet, you could tell.

Plus, the reaction from the drunk guy who was bringing his daughters to trick or treat was great. “Is that dog really pink?” “Nope. You must be seeing things.”
