Foaming at the Mouth…
April 14th, 2008 Posted in life with poodlesI always thought “foaming at the mouth” was just an expression. But this morning, Elly went under the fence (through a hole that was way too small for her, but is now blocked anyway–I have no idea how she got through it, even though I saw her do it)–and spent 20 minutes tracking. She was tracking the neighborhood bobcat (who was seen on Sunday (and the neighbor also found mice in her yard, under her bird feeder, I guess birds aren’t alone in liking sunflower seed) and by the time I caught up with her, she was literally dripping foam from her mouth. She tried to act real cool once I caught her–”were you calling me, Mom, I didn’t hear you? Did you know I love you? Really. Let me lean on you and be petted.”–but the foam gave her away.
