Flying Poodles

I am SO tired…

All of six runs in two days at the Poodle Club’s AKC trial–I shouldn’t be this tired. Elly squeaked out a Q on Saturday in Open Standard Preferred–really, she got a runout fault and an off-course fault–and she messed up the start… but she still Q’d. Sadly, that was the only Q of the weekend. I’d hoped for at least one Open Jumpers Q for Dancer, but we had off-courses both days–although she was fast and charming and got her weaves. (Several people mentioned how well she was coming along.) She also held her start-line stay with elan.

Elly was a royal pain in Open Jumpers. Mind you, I was running Elly and Dancer with only one dog in between… but Elly refused to run either Jumpers course. On Saturday, she actually sniffed the correct end of the tunnel–and then went in the other end! She did okay in standard–the Q one day and only a dogwalk contact the other day–but… Jumpers was a disaster. No attention, no interest in running. I don’t know if she’s tired or achy or what.

I know I’m tired and achy and what, though. Maybe Elly’s picking up on that and trying to save me.
