One naked poodle

I have been trying to learn to groom the curly girls myself. I have to confess that the show “Groomer has it” (which may be one of the worst TV shows I have ever ever seen) has inspired me. I figure if a group of semi-literate people can groom dogs under pressure, I can learn to groom two well-behaved (sometimes) standard poodles.

So yesterday I got out the grooming tools, charged the batteries, put some treats in my pocket and headed down to the basement with the girls. I neatened up Elly’s face and feet (and butt). Then I started on Dancer. After I’d done the face and feet and butt, I thought it would be cute to shave a little heart on her flank.

BAD IDEA.

Turns out I don’t have much in the way of manual dexterity. It just got worse and worse. So I shaved Dancer down. She doesn’t look too bad. Really. Think how much worse it could be. I could have shaved her head. Or her ears.
