An Elly-proof fence…

May 21st, 2008 Posted in life with poodles

The City of Sammamish has built a new dog park over at Beaver Lake Park (the south end of the city). It’s not big, but it’s reasonably well-designed. They have a small dog area and a big dog area. The big dog area is about an acre and a half, has a winding gravel trail through the woods, and a grassy field. I went over in the pouring rain–always the best time to go to a dog park–and Elly and Dancer and I were the only ones there.

The fence is six-feet high, chain link, and Elly-proof. It even has a double gate so that dogs simply can’t get out by accident.

The catch… it’s about 100 yards from the parking lot, along a gravel trail. I’m not looking forward to that part of it, although I suppose it will mean I have to work on persuading Elly to heel.
