More teeter work for Dancer

September 27th, 2008 Posted in training

I am trying the take it on the road, as many places as possible, approach to Dancer’s teeter. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, I am doing short lessons with Pritamo, who gave Elly and me our start in agility four years ago. (Oh, Elly was so happy to see her!)

Every instructor, I find, has a slightly different approach to the teeter. We talked about making sure Dancer has a clear job to do on the teeter: a nose touch just off the end, without pausing. We worked on her “yellow” command, which means–go bang your nose on the ground just off the end! We went back and forth between the lowest teeter setting and the dogwalk. Dancer did well, I think, but me? I need to work on my consistency.
