The catch to having strong and fit dogs…
February 24th, 2009 Posted in life with poodlesToday after practice, I was walking back to the car with the girls. Elly in harness, left hand, Dancer on lead, right hand. I was talking to Debbie, who was telling me about her horse. I was NOT paying attention to the girls.
Mistake.
Debbie has a Porta-potty in her parking lot (thanks!). She also has cats. The cats are very mellow, and very used to dogs.
My dogs are NOT used to cats.
As I walked, the girls spotted one of Debbie’s cats, about ten feet ahead of us, and about ten feet away from the Porta-potty. They lunged for the cat, taking me off balance, and the cat sprinted and hid behind the Porta-potty. The girls dragged me along, pulling with full force (and not having given me a chance to brace myself), using those strong and fit hindquarters, and Elly went left around the Porta-potty, and Dancer went right around the Porta-potty.
Leaving me to face-plant against the side of the Porta-potty, held in place by two dogs trying to get to Debbie’s cat, hiding on the other side.

Oh the picture you paint is so good you don’t even need to have an actual picture of the event!
So, how many bruises do you have?
