Poodles really are smarter than the average dog

An acquaintance of mine took her poodle hiking near Snoqualmie Pass and the dog got lost. Okay, that’s not so smart. But… four days later he was found. He’d dug himself a little cave in the snow, kept himself warm, and started barking when he heard people nearby. That was smart.
