Poodles, Dog Agility, Dog Training… and Knitting

In which I feel extremely frustrated and ….

We had an interesting day of trialing at the Sno King AKC trial on Saturday.

Both Elly and Dancer got the SEND portion of the FAST courses (Elly in Excellent, Dancer in Open), and both had nice weaves, and…

Nothing else. I was a terrible handler, distracted, tired, late, annoyed.

Dancer, who has been doing fabulous a-frames in practice, stopped dead on the a-frame again, then leapt over the contact. Elly ignored me and went cruising around the ring.

Of course, house stuff has distracted me, and I wasn’t at my best, and I’m sure the girls knew that. Of course they knew that. They’re dogs, which means they are extremely in tune with body language. Especially mine.

I withdrew from the Mega-Dogs trial at the end of this month, and I’m not entered in anything else right now.

I’m going to spend the next bit training and training and training. Myself and Dancer and Elly. I want solid contacts, I want a teeter, I want not to trial when I’m not focused.
