Dog humour (in which I prove poodles are smarter than the average bear)
October 16th, 2009 Posted in life with poodlesMonday I took the curly girlies to Sandy River Delta Park (yes, again, it’s a nice long walk and the weather was okay). Elly was feeling particularly feisty and was running all over the place, with a grace that she only shows when she’s feeling really good, so that was beautiful to see.
I took them all the way to the part where there’s good clean water to play in, but it had rained and there were a few puddles too. The girls ran through the water, drank some, played some more, and then Elly started teasing Dancer: “come and get me!” She play-bowed right in front of her, then ran away. She whacked her with a paw, then ran away. Ultimately Dancer started chasing her and Elly ran in circles for a while, with Dancer following her yipping and yowling as she ran, as Dancer does when she’s really excited.
Then Elly ran right into one of the muddy puddles, stopped dead, turned, and did a splash-bow just as Dancer caught up to her, getting Dancer right across the face with a big wave of muddy water. Then she lay down in the mud with a BIG grin on her face.
