Yet another trial….
October 19th, 2009 Posted in trialsYes, I think we’re trialing too much. But the timing has been good–Jay’s been gone a few weekends, which is always a good time to go to a trial, and then this past weekend’s trial was a NADAC trial, and close… so there you are.
We had a good time at the NADAC trial, despite a paucity of Qs. Should I even mention that we got eliminated in every single run that involved a contact? Why? Well, because Dancer didn’t get a single contact ALL weekend… Which is why I put all but one worker’s raffle ticket in the raffle for a video called “Contacts: Bridging the Gap between Training and Performance.” Yes, I won it. Haven’t watched it yet, but that’s the plan. I need all the help I can get.
I put the other ticket in for a free entry to a ZAP trial. I won that too. One reason I wasn’t too upset about the lack of Qs.
However, while Dancer did NOT have any contacts, she did shine on the courses where there weren’t any contacts: jumpers, weavers, hoopers, and tunnelers… Saturday in Jumpers, she placed second, with a time of 22.37 seconds over 110 yards (4.9 yps); SCT was 25.88 seconds. She didn’t Q in Jumpers on Sunday, because she had a minor offcourse (my fault, of course) but her run from that point was great, including a tricky layer that required her to be about 15 feet away.
In Weavers, she actually took FIRST, with a time of 34.93 seconds over 149 yards (4.3 yps), which was almost fifteen seconds under course time of 49.67 seconds.
Her last Q of the weekend came in Hoopers, where she did two tests in 21.46 seconds.
She completely two titles: her Open Jumpers (OJC) and her Superior Novice Hoopers (S-HP-N). We’ll stay in Open Jumpers and move up to Open in Hoopers.
