Flying Poodles

Elly has another adventure…

Took both dogs to Olympia for an agility trial today. Dancer’s first outing jumping 24″ and she Qd in both her runs. Elly did a creditable job in her one run but didn’t Q. Came home. Elly got excited at something next door and jumped off our back wall, down eight feet of retaining wall into the neighbor’s garden. She seems fine but I think she’s a complete idiot (jumping off a wall?!). I caught up to her two blocks away (about 150 feet by backyard distances) when she got distracted by a squirrel in a tree. I managed to persuade her it was worth trying to climb the tree to get the squirrel, which gave me time to get a grip on her collar. It’s nice to know I’m smarter than the a 6-year-old poodle, although I guess it’s a close thing.
