Another AKC trial
November 18th, 2009 Posted in life with poodlesDancer and Elly and I went to another AKC trial over the weekend. I do not know why I enter AKC trials… two runs? Five hours? Every single course has weaves? Long standard course times? Oh well. It was close. That’s a good thing.
Anyway, I had three runs on Saturday and two on Sunday. Saturday Dancer and I failed to Q in FAST because I assumed she’d go out to a jump that was at a slight angle… WRONG! She did a fabulous job in Jumpers With Weaves despite being flummoxed by my slowing her down to take the weaves (which she then had to repeat, did so, and still qualified, first place, because the standard course times..) so she got that Q. Elly failed to Q in standard because I got in her way. Do we notice a trend here? Pay attention, because on Sunday, Dancer failed to Q in Jumpers because I sent her over the wrong jump, and Elly failed to Q in standard because I almost sent her over the wrong jump and she got a refusal.
The girls have an ad on Craigslist for a new handler.
